Animal violence is one of the worst things there are. You can help by donating money to your local ASPCA.
Saving Indian Dancing Bears November 4, 2007
Over in India and Pakistan, many Indian bears are being badly abused. Since they were cubs, Indian bears were caught, chained, and forced to dance on hot plates while music is playing. The people who trained the bears tied a thick rope through their noses to be used as a rein. This causes serious nasal infection and sickness.
These Indian bears need your help. Go to www.wspa-usa.org to donate money to help fight against bear abuse.
Mountain Gorillas September 13, 2007
Gorillas are large powerful animals, but they can be very friendly and affectionate. Thanks to the movies, King Kong and Congo, gorillas are feared. Gorillas rarelt attack people unless they are being threatened.
Mountian gorillas are endangered. Their population is going down because of habitat loss and poaching. Many people are making gorilla reserves around the world. You can help by donatiing money to help these gorillas. When you get older maybe you could help stop poaching and hunting.

Komodo Dragon September 11, 2007
The komodo dragon is the largest living lizard. It only lives on Komodo Island. Komodo dragons are carnivores and they hunt and scavage deer, pig, and even young lizards. They are very good swimmers so they also hunt fish.
The komodo dragons’ population are going down because of man-made causes, like forest fires. Poachers catch these lizards for their skin which they sell for money.

Wolves September 11, 2007
Wolves live all over the world. They travel in packs and mainly hunt deer, elk, caribou, and small rabbits and hares. In the United States wolves live in forests hunting deer. Sometimes wolves will wander onto people’s property. Many people don’t like this so they shoot the wolf. Becuase of this deer population is going up. More deer are coming to places where they should not be, like on a side of a road. We need wolves to help keep deer population down. One way you could help wolves is donating money to help bulid a park where wolves can live, hunt, and be in their own natural habitat.

Elephants September 11, 2007
Elephant, A Gentle Creature, Hunted
Elephants are large, gentle creatures with big ears. They also have large tusks. Poachers hunt elephants for their tusks, just like they hunt tigers for their fur. Elephants’ tusks are made of ivory which can be sold at a very high price. Even though the tusks will grow back, poachers will kill the elephant just for the ivory.
Going Up Or Going Down?
Elephants are becoming extinct. There aren’t very many left in the world. African, Asian, and Indian government are putting up reserves for elephants. Still, just like tiger poachers, other people want to raise the fine of money or years in jail for poachers. What do you think?
Tigers September 11, 2007
The Hunter or the Huntee?
Tigers live in India and parts of China. They hunt animals like deer, wild pigs, and water buffalo. They rarely hunt humans because the tigers don’t want to be hunted. Some people do hunt tigers. They are called poachers. They hunt tigers for their fur. Then they sell the fur for money. Now there aren’t very many tigers left in the world.
On the Verge of Extinction
Tigers are endangered. Many people think there should be some more tiger reserves, a place where animals can live in peace, around China and India. People could also breed tigers so the population of tigers would go up. Or the government in India and China could make a bigger punishment for poachers, like going to jail for years or paying a large fine. You can help tigers by telling your friends and family about this.

The SPCA and the Pound September 11, 2007
There are many animals in the world that need help. We just don’t realize it. This is a blog about saving animals and what can happen if you don’t save them. From dogs to blue whales animals need help around the world. In this blog you will see what happens to animals in pounds and about animals in the SPCA center. We hope you will help these animals.
The Pound
When an animal is found most people take them to the pound, a place where people take dogs to be adopted. It’s not like the SPCA center at all. When animals are taken there they are put into a cage until somebody comes to adopt them. If they are not adopted in seven days or less the animal will get euthanized, a small shot which puts the animal to sleep forever, or get put into a gas chamber. We should help these animals by adopting them. Try finding a pound in your county and adopt a pet today.
The SPCA
Animal cops or animal control usually bring animals to the SPCA where they can get a check up and get special care. If the animal is healthy and not aggressive it will be put up for adoption. Most animals are kept in the SPCA for a long time unless someone adopts them. Other animals, like unhealthy or aggressive animals, are put into special care or euthanized. There are lots of animals in the SPCA center up for adoption!
